Privacy policy
This page explains what CAI collects, and doesn't collect, from people who visit this website. In short: very little. There's no contact form, no accounts, and nothing to sign up for, so there's almost nothing to collect.

What this site collects
This website does not have a contact form, a login, or a user account of any kind. We don't ask visitors to submit their name, email address, or any other personal information anywhere on the site, and nothing you do while browsing is stored in a database or sent to CAI.
If you want to reach us, you do it the ordinary way — by email or phone, using the details in the footer of every page — not through this website.
Cookies and analytics
This site does not set any cookies of its own, and there is no cookie banner because there is nothing here that needs your consent to run.
We plan to use Cloudflare Web Analytics to get a general sense of how many people visit the site and which pages they read. Cloudflare Web Analytics is cookie-free and does not build a profile of, or individually track, any visitor — it reports aggregate counts, not who you are. This is why the site does not need a cookie banner: nothing about it identifies you personally. As of this policy's effective date, this analytics tool is planned but not yet turned on; this page will be kept accurate as that changes.
We do not use any advertising trackers, social-media tracking pixels, or third-party analytics services beyond the one described above.
Donations
CAI does not process donations, payments, or any financial transaction through this website. Gifts are made in person, by mail, by cheque, or by e-Transfer — see the Donate page for details. Because no payment ever passes through this site, we never collect, see, or store any credit card number, banking detail, or other financial information here.
Fonts and other services this site uses
This site loads its typefaces (EB Garamond and Libre Franklin) directly from Google Fonts' servers rather than hosting them ourselves. Loading a font this way means Google receives the visiting device's IP address and standard request information, the same as any request to any website — Google's own privacy policy governs what it does with that. This is the only third-party service this site contacts. We do not embed any other third-party scripts, widgets, or trackers.
Research papers
The papers and briefs in our research library are hosted directly on caiorg.ca, not on Google Drive or any other outside service, even though that's how we receive them from our own staff. Reading or downloading a paper from this site does not send any information to a third party.
